T+1: Implementation has begun

The T+1 project involves reducing the settlement cycle for financial instruments transactions from two business days (T+2) to one business day (T+1).

The main objectives are:

reducing counterparty risk

increasing the stability of the financial system

improving market efficiency

The need to align with major global markets, such as the United States and Canada, which have already adopted T+1, is another key driver of the initiative.

This change involves banks, brokers, market infrastructures, central securities depositories, and technology providers.

To support the ecosystem during this crucial phase, ABI and AMF Italia are promoting the event: “T+1: Implementation Has Begun”, which will take place on March 18, 2026, in Milan.

The conference will bring together institutions, banks, financial intermediaries, market infrastructures, and technology and information service providers to review the progress of the project and discuss the main operational implications for the industry.

Representing ReActive | Almaviva Group will be Mario Mendia, Chief Executive Officer.
